Dave's Bio
My name is David Apel. I am 51 years old and married with three children. I first got saved in a Southern Baptist Church at the age of 17, but a few years later after becoming involved in the rock ‘n roll scene I fell away from God. I rededicated my life to Jesus Christ in 1982 and since that time have been involved in ministry in one form or another. I have served, in the local church, as deacon, elder, missions director, and was ordained and became an associate minister of a church in Columbia, Missouri in 2001. As missions director I led a short term missions trip to Costa Rica, helped feed the homeless and was involved in a college campus ministry to foreign students. Foreign Missions is one of my heart’s passions. I was involved in prison ministry for several years and have done everything from one on one visits to Bible study. I helped form two Christian Rock bands and we ministered anywhere that we were allowed in. We ministered from youth events to nightclubs and even a couple of “keggers”. Where else would you want to be besides where the devil doesn't’ want you? I love evangelism and strongly desire to see the lost saved. I have an Associates of Arts degree from CLU Seminary with a dual emphasis on prophecy and missions. I recently graduated from Oral Roberts University’s MTDI program. I have an insatiable desire to learn and I believe that books are an untapped gold mine. I am a member of Morningstar Fellowship of Ministries and I submit to them for their oversight and my further training and development. I am also a member of International Charismatic Bible Ministries. For over five years I worked in two separate ministries and helped develop people in their prophetic gifting. I believe that “Hearing God’s Voice” is a privilege that all of His Children have, but few have been released into their level of gifting and I believe that "Hearing God's Voice" is the "glue" that holds all other ministries and giftings together, whether it be praying for the sick or preaching from the pulpit. I have taught on the prophetic in a few churches and Prophecy is also one of my passions. I love to see people “Birthed” into the Prophetic and realize the specialness and necessity of hearing God. For 26 years I was a partner with my father in our own business and the last 11 years as sole proprietor. Three years ago I sold that business to follow my passion in ministry. I have been in the "Real World", as many who hold secular jobs would call it. I know the struggles of the day to day life of providing for my family. Also, I know what it is like to hold down two jobs, as many others do, of being on staff in a church as well as holding a secular job. I can well appreciate the sacrifices many make to serve God to their fullest. It is not easy as well you know. My heart goes out to anyone that goes that path of serving God to their fullest AND providing for their family by working a secular job. As you can see, I have done everything from sweeping the floor, to pastoring, to itinerant ministry and to be honest with you this still doesn’t make me anything, but “Willing”. I have learned that two of the most important words anyone can say is “Yes, Lord!” It’s that simple. If you are willing to be used, God will use you. And He will take you farther than you can ever imagine. All you have to do is say, “Yes!” Are you ready for the trip? Are you ready for the journey that lies before you? You will be blessed beyond your wildest imagination. God Bless, David Apel |
